Catherine Willows sat on a wobbling barstool sipping a beer as she waited. She had planned an after work drink with a friend so she could unload her frustration over her favorite subject, one tall dark enigma named Sara Sidle. All damn day she had watched as the long legged beauty stand hunched over the engine of a wrecked Cadillac. That perfectly rounded backside up in the air begging to be caressed had driven her to the point where she walked out of the garage leaving the thing to Sara for her to figure out while she went to a lab and tried like hell to concentrate on the other evidence they had gathered at the scene of the accident.

With a heavy sigh, she ordered her second beer. Catherine knew she had a serious case of the hots for her co-worker. She had known what she was feeling a few months ago when she invited Sara out for a beer after the Hank fiasco went down. She had desperately wanted to pull the hurting woman in her arms and kiss away the pain. Sara had actually opened up a little bit of herself and talked. Catherine had found out that Sara did possess a sense of humor and used readily when she was relaxed. She had once told Sara that she wouldn't know how to have an emotion if she was paid to but then she found out it was just the opposite. Sara felt too much and let each emotion try to swallow her until she couldn't get out from underneath the flood. Since that morning, they had worked on getting along a little better. What fights they did have were because they were both strong opinionated women who hated to be wrong.

"All I want is a chance with her." Catherine mumbled to herself.

Sara laughed at a joke she was being told as they walked into the bar. "That's just wrong." She hissed to her best friend with a shake of her head. "Wrong but very true." She added thinking about the joke. What do you call a can of sardines on a lesbian's cofee table? Incense. "Gross." She tossed in still snickering. "And I missed you why?"

The tall Asian man beside her laughed lightly as he reached for the door pulling it open. "Because I'm the only one you let into that cold heart of yours." He said with a grin that showed off his pearly whites. "Because I understand you and still love you enough to put up with you. Speaking of love,"

"Don't go there." Sara warned stepping around the muscle bound man. She had made the mistake of telling Ken about her all consuming crush on one blonde goddess that she worked with. "Catherine's so straight she makes the Pope look like a fag." Sara growled in frustration. She had wanted Catherine Willows since the minute she laid eyes on her. All they seemed to do was fight and bitch at each other.

"Have you tried talking to her?" Ken asked raising his voice over the noise of the jukebox.

"That would work! Did you know I would love to climb all over you and do things to you that make you scream my name for hours?" She answered with a mocking tone in her voice. "That would really go well."

"How do you know?" He tried again pointing to an empty table against the far wall.

Sara followed his finger and nodded changing her course and heading for the table. "For one of Metro's finest accident reconstructionists, you can be a dumbass. She barely tolerates me now. I really don't want to turn that into hates me by saying I want you in ways that would make a porn star blush. Besides which, you have no room to talk. You still haven't asked that lab tech out you were drolling all over last week."

"We're talking about you here." Ken said with a dirty look Sara's way.

"You ask him out and I'll ask Catherine out." Sara fired knowing that Ken would never go after the tech in question because he couldn't find the guts to do it. So she was safe from ever making an ass out of herself in front of Catherine.

"I've never seen you here." A deep voice said off to Catherine's right.

Catherine sighed and shook her head. She was so not in the mood for some bar room romeo trying to put the moves on her. Catherine lifted an eyebrow at the unwanted intruder. She opted to ignore the dark headed man and turned her head in an obvious sign of dismissal.

"Can I buy you a beer?" The deep voice asked trying again.

Catherine lifted her freshly opened beer off the counter and wiggled it. "No thanks." She said finally.

"You're here alone? I'm Steve."

"I'm not interested." Catherine said getting tired of the little twenty question game this struggling romeo wanted to play. That should be plain enough. She thought to herself.

"A beautiful woman all alone is a real shame. Come on baby, give me a chance." Steve said stepping a little closer toward the hot blonde.

Sara turned in her chair scanning the bar looking for a waitress. Her eyes flew past the bar when something in her brain screamed, "Back the fuck up and look again." She turned her eyes back the way they came when she saw a very familiar figure sitting at the bar. Her eyes racked over the slim body in tight jeans. She let out a sigh that got her companion's attention.

"What's that for?" Ken asked looking over at Sara. The stunned expression on her face made him reach out and touch her arm gently.

"Catherine." Sara struggled out as she felt the cool of her leather jacket pressing into the skin. She saw the dark haired man standing at her side talking to her. She watched the tense body set Catherine was using. It was a look she knew well.

"I'm not alone." Catherine answered. I'm waiting for someone so you need to go." Catherine hissed. She had tried the polite method which had failed so she was going straight for the piss off method.

"I'll keep you company until then." Steve told her sitting down on the stool beside the blonde.

Looking back, Sara couldn't say what made her do what she did only that she acted on impulse. "Excuse me." She said to Ken absently. She stood up and peeled her leather jacket off dropping it in Ken lap. She took a deep breath and crossed the almost empty bar trying hard to not think about what she was doing and the shit it was gonna cost her later.

"Sorry I'm late baby." Sara said coming to a stop behind Catherine. She looked over at the intruder and gave him a sweet smile.

Baby? Catherine's confused mind screamed when she recognized the voice coming from behind her. Did she just call me baby? Catherine turned slowly and felt her heart stop beating and the air in her lungs stop moving. Sara had somehow painted herself into a pair of black leather pants that snugged each and every womanly curve she owned. Her eyes traveled up to the sheer shirt which caused the air to finally move in a gasp. The black shirt was made out of a very very thin satin. She noticed the sides of the shirt were missing showing off expanses of pale flawless skin in half dollar size portions. The front dipped low stopping at her breast bone.

"Hey sexy." Catherine replied in complete honesty before her mind could register what the words flying from her lips.

Sara heard the words despite the pounding beat coming from the jukebox. She almost laughed when until she saw the heat building behind the blue eyes as they looked her up and down.

Catherine decided something right then. She knew Sara was trying to help her get rid of this pest but she was gonna make the most of it. She slid off the stool and smiled at her co-worker. She stepped in pressing her body close to the taller one in front of her.

Sara couldn't stop the groan that escaped her lips when Catherine's fingers trailed up her body slowly. She shivered when those fingers brushed bare skin as Catherine smiled at her.

Catherine felt the whole body shake at her gentle touch. Well, well! She likes that. Catherine thought happily. She lloked up into dark eyes that were quickly coming alive with heat. "It's not nice leaving me all alone baby." Catherine mumbled feeling fires of her own burning at the beautiful woman in front of her. You want to play Sara? I'll play.

Sara reached up and put her hand over Catherine's stopping her fingers from moving up any further from her breast bone. She smiled and looked into blue eyes that were shining brightly with mischief. "I'm so sorry. How can I make it up to you?" Sara said just loud enough for Catherine to hear.

Catherine smiled one of her brillant spell binding specials and reached up tangling the silky dark locks into her fingers. She pulled gently while tilting her head up.

Holy shit! Is she really going what I think she's about to do? Sara's mind screamed at her. Who the fuck cares? You've dreamed about Catherine kissing you and now here's a chance to get that dream. Her hormones advised happily. But that's taking advantage. You were only trying to help her with this prick. Shut the fuck up and kiss her. We;ll deal with the aftermath later.

Catherine felt the very gentle resistance. I'll never get this chance to kiss her again so I'm taking this one. She thought to herself pulling a little harder. She smiled again when Sara lowered her head.

Both women moaned in relief as warm lips met in a gentle touch. Both had wanted this moment from day one and it was finally here. All of Sara's thought processes shut down at the feel of Catherine's body pressing tightly into hers. The feel of strong fingers buried in her hair and the softest lips she had ever felt on hers. The embers flared into white hot fires as she gave in.

Catherine groaned when Sara's larger hands came to rest on her hips holding her tightly. She let out a little gasp of surprise as a warm wet tongue brushed along the bottom of her lip. Without a care, Catherine parted her lips.

Sara groaned loudly when Catherine's tongue brushed across hers very slowly. She melted into the taste of beer and heat as the kiss deepened. Catherine gave up all pretense of coherent thought. She leaned against Sara hoping she had the strength to hold them both up. Several seconds of a slow moving tongue in her mouth robbed her of her breath. She pulled back slowly. "Damn you're good at that." Catherine said swallowing hard.

"Shit!" A deep voice snarled breaking into their moment of wonder at what had just happened between them. "How about we,"

Sara jerked her head up looking over Catherine's shoulder. She had gotten so wrapped up in kissing the woman in her arms, she had completely forgotten about the prick. "How about you fuck off and leave my girlfriend the FUCK ALONE!" Sara snarled loudly.

Catherine heard the words girlfriend being shouted over her shoulder. Those were the sweetest words she had heard in a long time. Words she found herself wanting to hear on a full time basis.

"He's gone." Sara said looking down into bright blue eyes. She sighed and started to step away from the body that felt so perfect next to hers. Now that the prick was gone, she knew Catherine would want away from her.

"Thanks." She said pulling on the dark head still tucked into her hand.

Sara felt the gentle tug and whimpered when Catherine licked her own lips slowly. "You don't have to do this again." Sara told her with a voice that dripped regret.

"I didn't have to kiss you the first time Sara." Catherine informed her.

Sara smiled and lowered her head. Seconds before lips met a second time, she whispered, "I've always wanted a chance to be with you."

"I've always wanted a chance with you too. How about we take this chance given to us now?" Catherine whispered against warm lips.

"Sounds perfect to me." Sara mumbled pulling Catherine back into her and kissing her deeply.

Warrick stepped into the bar and took a second to scan the room. His eyes landed on a sight that made his temperature go up and his heart smile happily. Catherine Willows was kissing Sara Sidle just like she had said she wanted to. Now he knew what Catherine wanted to talk to him about.

"YOU GO GIRL!" Ken yelled across the bar seeing Sara kissing the object of her dreams with so much passion even his gay self felt the heat.

As the kiss began to end, both women thanked the other for taking a chance that could make them both the happiest they had ever hoped to be.

The End
